The countryside around is full of tales of fairies and the supernatural. The famous ‘Fairy Bridge’, on the old road to Dunvegan, lies near the North boundary.
The village of Edinbane is 2 miles away. Here you can experience live traditional music at the Edinbane Inn, sample local produce or watch the potter at work.
Six miles along the main road to the north–west lies Dunvegan, and its famous castle which has been continuously occupied by the Chiefs of Clan MacLeod for more than eight centuries.
In the other direction, seventeen miles away, lies the island’s capital – the pretty fishing village of Portree. Here, a range of shops, bars and restaurants can be found.
Cross the Skye Bridge or take the ferry from Mallaig. Take the A87 north passing through Broadford and Portree. In Portree, at the first main junction, turn left onto the A850 signposted Dunvegan. At the roundabout take the second exit towards Dunvegan. After approximately 3 miles bear left onto the A850 towards Edinbane and Dunvegan. After 11 miles, turn right signposted Greshornish
