Loch na Stapaig
Nestled in the hills above Loch Greshornish you will find Loch na Stapaig, a private loch which has been stocked with brown trout. In the boathouse at the loch-side are wooden boats available for guests’ use. With the impressive backdrop of Loch Diubeag and the mountains of Harris beyond, fishing loch na Stapaig presets the perfect way to while away an afternoon.
Fishing Season: 1st of April until the 30th of September.
Red Burn river
The Red Burn, a small spate river which runs parallel to the single track Greshornish Road, offers angling for brown trout, a run of sea trout and the occasional salmon. Spinning and worm fishing are recommended.
Angling is possible from the shore around the Greshornish peninsula. The best fishing is from Greshornish point where Pollock fishing is particularly good. Angling from the south and east sides of the loch will produce Dab, Flounder and Dogfish.
